Elly and I met in medical school. I remember when I used to see her during the first couple of weeks in my second year at Western University. I thought that she was beautiful, but unapproachable (which is a nice way of saying that I didn’t think she would give me the time of day).

Well we met at some point during the first month of school and played the “do you like me?”, “I like you” game. We hung out a couple of times and then we started to study together almost nightly at a local Starbucks. There was great incentive and motivation to study every night because we had an excuse to spend time together. I think that it was the most amazing thing for our relationship. We were able to get to know each other in a way that was so natural…a friendship, which is funny since that’s the way it should be.

I just couldn’t believe that I had this gorgeous girl who was so smart studying next to me each night. We started dating and it was so easy from the start. We were both coming out of relationships and trying to stay focused on school, so we wanted to take it slow. It was the best thing for us. We didn’t jump into anything too fast, and found out how much we truly liked each other. That like turned to love very quickly as we found out how perfect we are for each other and how well we compliment one another.

I never thought I would find that perfect woman for me, but as cliché as it sounds, I found her. She brings me up when I am down, and has been there through some of the toughest times of my short life. Every morning that I wake up is better because she is there. I love Elly with all my heart and I will forever…
